I Roll With Dave - Goal Setting Workshops

The two day workshop series focuses on extensive motivational goal setting, aimed at those lacking the necessary skills or motivation to get out there and do what they want to do. David works with all youth and young adults, including at-risk youth, those suffering from mental illness and extreme low self esteem, as well as long term unemployment. David combines the teaching of practical skills with plenty of fun and laughs to help his students set goals for every aspect of life, to bring their dreams and aspirations to reality. The subjects covered include:

• Goal setting
• Getting motivated
• Grooming and Deportment (including hygiene, appearance, attitude, interview preparation, etc...)
• Confidence
• Time management
• Choices and consequences
• Personality profiling

The Deportment and Grooming training involves taking the participants out to buy clothes suitable for interviews, and having a hairdresser come in to cut their hair. Participants are taught how to present themselves for job interviews. After the participants have been shopping and have had their hair cut their photo will be taken by a professional photographer, for them to use for their resume or facebook page, to convey the clear message, 'The me I see is the me I'll be.'This series uses an intensive, practical, hands-on approach, which empowers the participants to take hold of their own future, in ways they never thought they could before.

In 2010 I completed the "I Roll With Dave" two day goal setting workshop through my job agency at maroochydore, Queensland. At the time I had been looking for a Mechanics apprenticeship for a long time but was never successful in doing so due to lack of motivation and an expectancy that my job agency would "just get" me a job with no effort on my behalf. After completing 2 days of goal setting and deportment & grooming with Dave gunter, my confidence and motivation went through the roof! I learned that my past and background didn't matter and that I could achieve my dreams that I had in life. Two weeks after completing my workshop with Dave I got the Mechanics Apprenticeship I wanted!
